Swami Vivekananda West Bengal Government Merit cum Means Scholarship Scheme:
All applications are invited for awarding scholarship scheme in West Bengal under “Swami Vivekananda West Bengal Government Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme” which is introduced for providing financial assistance to the poor and meritorious students of West Bengal pursuing higher studies and to achieve their goals. The motive behind this initiative is to avail same respect and privilege in the society.

The students of Post-Madhyamik levels in regular courses who are permanent resident in West Bengal and studying in one of the respective educational institutions of this state after passing out from the State Board or Council of Secondary or Higher Secondary Education and Madrasah Siksha Parishad or a University of West Bengal, which is set up by State Act, whose family income is Rs. 80,000/- per year or less, can apply for this scholarship provided their educational qualifications are as follows:-
1) Higher Secondary level (scholarship @ Rs. 500/- p.m.)
Minimum 75% in aggregate in Madhyamik Pariksha or its equivalent as stated above excluding optional elective subject. Those students who are enrolled their name in Class XI on passing Madhyamik Pariksha or its equivalent examination in will be eligible to apply.
2) Under Graduate level scholarships (@ Rs. 750/- to Rs. 1500/- p.m.)
All candidates are informed that they must obtain minimum 75% marks, contains only 2 language subjects and 3 best elective subjects. Those students who are enrolled in the 1st year of Under Graduate Course after passing the H.S. Examination or its equivalent examination will be eligible to apply.
3) Scholarships at Diploma (Polytechnic) level (@ 750/- p.m.)
Those students who are enrolled after passing-out in Secondary (M.P.) Examination or its equivalent as stated above for first year Diploma (Polytechnic) course [H.S. Examination or its equivalent for Diploma in Pharmacy or Modern office practice & Management of 2 year duration] and after passing-out in ‘West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education & Training’ courses which is equivalent to H.S. Examination for 2nd year Diploma (Polytechnic) courses on lateral entry basis will be eligible to apply. Candidates must obtain at least 75% marks in aggregate [excluding the marks secured in the optional elective subject, if any].
4) Post Graduate level scholarships (@ Rs. 1200/- to 1400/-)
Minimum 55% marks in Honors subjects at the Graduation level. Students who are enrolled their name in the 1st year class of Post Graduate Course in general education after passing the Graduation with Honors will be eligible to apply.
Online application Process :
The applicant is required to go first get into the scholarship website http://mcmscholarship.wb.gov.in and register his name. Then you need to fill in the appropriate application form and submits it along with the scanned copy of all necessary documents as attachments while staying connected. After submission of a completed application form electronically along with requisite scanned enclosures (e.g. certificates, declaration etc.), the same set needs to be printed and a recent passport size and signed photograph needs to be pasted on the application form. The whole document set is required to be dispatched in an envelope to the concerned offices mentioned below within the due date.
Offline application Process:
In offline mode, the applicant is required to downloads the application form in the computer from the said scholarship official website mcmscholarship.wb.gov.in, and fill it offline, and after that submit it along with the scanned copy of necessary documents as attachments once connected. After successful submission of application form along with requisite scanned enclosures (e.g. certificates, declaration etc.), the whole documents set needs to be printed and a recent passport size and signed photograph needs to be pasted on the application form. The whole set is required to be dispatched in an envelope to the concerned offices mentioned below within the due date.
Manual application Process:
Manual applications has to be submitted in the prescribed manner along with required documents (e.g. certificates, declaration etc.) in envelopes to the mentioned offices within the due date. The words, “Application for Swami Vivekananda West Bengal Government Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme for pursuing ……………* Course of studies” is to be clearly written on the envelope.
a) All candidates are informed that the duly completed applications must be delivered or submitted to the Government Office. Applications received after the closing date of submission will be automatically rejected without showing any reason.
b) It has to be noted that here that duly filled in and completed applications will only be considered for awarding Scholarships. Level-wise number of awardees will be selected considering both merit and means of the applicants from the valid applications received within the last date of receiving applications.
c) As the payments process it will be made through ECS only, furnishing of Bank details i.e. A/C No., Bank Name, IFSC Code and MICR Code of any respective Bank preferably the State Bank of India, is necessary.
