ichr.ac.in : Indian Council of Historical Research invited applications for Post Doctoral Fellowship 2015

Indian Council of Historical Research has given the notifications to invite the applications for Postdoctoral Fellowship 2015-16 from candidates. This fellowship is for taking the eligibility examination from the eligible students for the award of Post-Doctoral (General) Fellowship (PDF) of the value of Rs.28000/- per month with a contingency grant of Rs.20000/- per annum.


This examination will be conducted in the month of  on February, 8th 2015 at New Delhi, Bengaluru and Guwahati.
 Term of the Fellowship:
 Here are the term of this fellowship are given below:
  •  The term of this Fellowship will be for maximum 2 years and it can be extendable by 1 year more in special circumstances or situations if it has been recommended by the Research Projects Committee.
  • The highest number of Postdoctoral (General) Fellowships (PDF) available for the year 2015- 16 is total 10

Eligibility Criteria:
Only those eligible candidates can apply for this fellowship who have obtained their PhD degrees in History/Archaeology/Museology.
Exam and Interview Details:
 The Post-doctoral fellowships will be awarded on the basis of the following points which are:
a) It is based on the good performance of the candidate in the eligibility examination and interview 
b) It is also based on the project proposal 
c) An assessment of the candidate’s Ph.D. dissertation (to be submitted only if called for the interview) 
We must inform you that the Eligibility Examination will be for a maximum of 100 marks which is to be answered by the students in maximum 3 hours.
 All the questions can be answered in two languages either English or Hindi.
 The Interview carries a maximum marks of 100.
All those candidates who have qualify in the eligibility examination can appear for the Interview at the offices of the ICHR which is located in New Delhi.
 Students will get the II nd class railway or bus fare which is chargeable by the short routes from Railway Station or Bus Stand which is nearest to their normal place of residence or from where they actually perform the journey. Whichever is nearer to the place of interview, it will be reimbursed to eligible students on provided tickets.

Other Requirements:
 An application fee of Rs.300/- can be paid in the form of a Demand Draft which will be made in favour of the Deputy Director (Accounts) ICHR, payable at Delhi (Candidates belonging to SC/ST/Physically Challenged category are exempted from payment of the fee).
The II nd class railway or bus fare chargeable by the shortest routes from Railway Station or Bus Stand which is near to their normal place of residence or from where they actually start or stop their journey, whichever is nearer to the place of examination, will be reimbursed to SC/ST candidates on distribution of ticket(s), provided the distance travelled is not less than 30 kms).

 Important Dates:
 An Online submission of JRF applications will be starts on: 10th November 2014 
Closing date of online submission is 10th December 2014 
Closing date of submitting the photocopies of applications and submitted online on 22nd December 2014 
The Examination will be conducted on 08th February 2015
