Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships :
A new scholarship has been initiated by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India and the Department of Higher Education. This scholarship has been named as the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for Students”. The main aim of this scholarship is to provide students with financial assistance in their education.
The scholarships are awarded to those meritorious students who are belongs to from families with low income , as to provide them with financial assistance to continue their higher education. The awarding of scholarships shall be done in accordance with the outcome of Senior Secondary Examination. Approximately 8200 fresh scholarships will be handed out each year. Out of this, 4100 scholarships are for boys students and 4100 scholarships are for girls students . These scholarships will be given for graduate and postgraduate studies. Scholarships will also be given for pursing professional courses too.
The Scholarship amount will be delivered to the selected student’s Bank Account only through Electronic Clearing System mode which is very easy and convenient. All the students are requested to open a Bank Account in his/her name only in a respective bank branch of any Scheduled Nationalize or commercial Bank which has ECS facility. Students are also advised to provide their Bank Account details such as, Bank Name and detail address of the Bank , correct NEFT branch code (11 digit alpha numeric code) of the Bank. Also the aadhaar card number is required for the process.
The allotment of scholarships shall be done in the ratio of 3:2:1.
Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criterion is:
- Minimum 60% and above marks must be scored by the applicants in class 10+2.
- All the eligible students must belongs to the non-creamy layer.
- Students are informed that they must not hold any other scholarship/ stipend under this scheme.
- The scholarship shall be renewed every year till the course is completed.
- The student’s parent annual income should not exceed upto Rs. 6,00,000 /- per annum from all sources.
Students shall be given Rs.1000/- a month during their degree course. Once they begin their post graduation, they will get Rs.2000/- a month. Those candidates who are pursuing professional courses shall receive Rs.2000/- a month during their 4th and 5th years.

Applicants can visit the official website jac.nic.in and apply online. They can then take the print out of the admission form and send it to the address mentioned below. Students always make sure that the admission form is always free of cost. Those application who have some incorrect details or any kind of errors/mistakes will be rejected at the same time.
