nhfdc.nic.in National Handicapped Scholarships for Students with Disabilities 2014-15
The National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation which is well known as the NHFDC is working to provide the scholarship via their online portal nhfdc.nic.in every year of Physical Handicap category through which they can continue their education. The NHFDC is giving the scholarship to students with any of disabilities for encouragement. The PH students who are not able to afford high expenses of their education through this stipend fund they are able to continue their studies through any of educational institution. This is a centralized scheme programme which works under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (under the Government of India) has main object to promote importance of education to handicap students along with to reduce the financial burden from their parents. For this academic year of 2014 – 2015 the NHFDC scholarship is inviting applications by students through the online registration process. The candidates who are interested can visit to the www.nhfdc.nic.in website and can make their registration to get the award amount. Under the process the PH students will get the fund amount on their bank account for which they will fill the information on the online registration form of scholarship.
Types of Scholarship –
However more then two thousand and five hundred (2500) students every year provided the benefits of this fund. The applicants who are having their PH category certificates are able to obtain two types of scholarship under the scheme. See the mentioned below both types of schemes details:
1. Scholarship Type First as Trust Fund Terms and Conditions –
The physical handicap student who wants to get the education for PG (Post-Graduation) level through any of the educational program i.e. in technical or in the professional field subjects or courses are eligible to submit their request for the first type of scholarship of trust fund. The desire candidate must be getting his / her education through any of the central / state government recognized educational institution in our country. There is also reservation system has been fixed by the department under which 30 percent quota seats are provided to the PH girl students. In case there is no application has been received by the dept for disable girl the reserved stipend quota will be provided to the Non-PH category girls.
Under the scheme the students are able to apply for this any of the year of their academic session of PG education. The scheme benefits will be provided to candidates on the quarter bases and applicants must have to submit their registration online through using the official portal of nhfdc.nic.in. After the complete process the selected candidates can get the fund till 10 month duration of their studies in which they will be given maintenance allowance. It is only given to students who are studding in any of the govt or govt-aid school / collage / university. Only the fees equal to the complete course of students is refundable (reimbursement of non-refundable fees).
The fund will be provided through process of online application to more then two thousand (2000) students on which they are able to get twenty five hundred rupees (Rs. 2500/-) per month if he / she is studying with any of professional course and three thousand rupees per month (Rs. 3000/-) if the student is doing any tech course. This fund will be given till the same duration as mentioned above and selected candidates only can get it for signal academic year. Also the candidates under the professional graduation studies are able to get six thousand rupees (Rs. 6000/-) per year and the students of PG can get ten thousand (Rs. 10000/-) as the charges for their books and stationery allowance under the scheme. Apart from this the aids and appliances also has provided to the students who are differently disabled and they can get it only one time in complete life.
The applicants will have to show the income certificate with the application form for up to three lakh rupees per year (Rs. 300000/-) of their parents which means their parents are having less then twenty five thousand rupees (Rs. 25000/-) per month. Also applicants are suggested that they are not able to receive any type of other stipend or scholarship under the duration of getting benefits of this scheme.
2. Scholarship Type Second as National Fund Terms and Conditions –
The PH students doing any of the tech or professional course through any of the recognized educational institution in India are able to get the benefits of this National Fund scheme scholarship by the NHFDC. This stipend is given to five hundred (500) students every year of physical handicap / with disabilities candidates and getting their higher education. Right now the notification has been published for this and the application forms are invited through the students via the online registration system. The desire applicants can submit their request online for this from 01 July 2014 and the last date of making registration is 31 August 2014. After the process the selected candidates can get the fund benefits for their education only one time and for single academic year.
According to the notification published by the department the applicants studying as the day scholars will be provided seven hundred rupees (Rs. 700/-) per month and the candidates getting their education as the hosteller life will be given one thousand rupees (Rs. 1000/-) per month under the scheme. Also the students with disabilities who are studying under the Graduate Level or Post Graduation level can get the fund amount of seven hundred rupee (Rs. 700/-) per month if they are living as the hostellers and if they are day scholars then it will be given as four hundred rupees (Rs. 400/-). The both of amount for UG (under graduation) / PG (post graduation) will be given to the professional courses students who are getting their education under the diploma / certificate. Up to ten thousand rupees (Rs. 10000/-) fees will be reimbursed by the department to students.
To obtain this scheme the applicants will have submit the income certificate on which the annual income not has been mentioned more then one lakh eighty thousand rupees (Rs. 180000/-) which means the candidates parent’s are not having their monthly income more then fifteen thousand rupees (Rs. 15000) per month. In the duration of getting benefits of this scholarship scheme of national funds by the NHFDC the candidates are not able to request for any other type of scheme.

After making the complete online registration applicant have to get the printout of their application form and need to attach their all the documents for education, age, income along with the handicap certificate etc. Then the applicant has to meet with head of school / university / collage / educational institution and need to take duly signature on the application form.
In the last step of process candidates will have to send complete documents and application form in the National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC) head office address of

NOTE – Applicants must have to send the hard copy of application form after taking the printout of online registration. If any student just had made online registration it will reject and students will responsible for it. Also candidates are suggested to keep one copy with them as the proof for future assistance.
