The Press Institute of India (PII), Chennai and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), New Delhi are now organizing PII – ICRC Awards, 2015 for the best article written and photographs taken by Journalists and Photojournalists on humanitarian subject on the theme “Reporting on the Fate of Victims of Natural/Man-Made Disasters: Disasters shatter and destroy lives. They spread poverty and undermine development”. All the talented and deserving applicants are requested to apply for the same before the closing date.
Award Details: 

  • Award value For Journalists:
    • 1st Prize – Rs. 50,000/-
    • 2nd Prize – Rs. 30,000/-
    • 3rd Prize – Rs. 20,000/-
  • Award Value for Photojournalists:
    • 1st Prize – Rs. 50,000/-
    • 2nd Prize – Rs. 30,000/-
    • 3rd Prize – Rs. 20,000/-


Eligibility Criteria:

  • The applicants are required to make their article or photo which should have been published in an Indian national or regional newspaper or magazine between April 2014 and March 2015.
  • All the articles which is printed in regional languages, an exact English translation is mandatory.
  • Only one entry per individual is permitted for either category.
  • Relatives of members of the jury and organizers are not allowed to participate.


Application Process:

  • All eligible candidates should produce their proof of article or photo published in the respective newspaper or magazine.
  • The candidates should submit their entries with complete details via email or post to the given below address:
