Sangrur Police Visa and Foreigner’s registration extension

Foreigner’s Registration :

All foreigners including citizens of Indian origin visiting India on long term (more than 6 months) Student visa (S) (including those coming for study of Yoga, Vedic Culture, Indian system of dance and music), Research Visa (R), Employment Visa (E) and Missionary Visa (M) will be required to get themselves registered with concerned Registration Officer within 2 weeks of his/her first arrival, irrespective of the duration of their stay.
Foreigners coming to India on Medical Visa (M) or Medical Attendant (MX) Visa are also required to register themselves with the concerned Registration Officer within 14 days of arrival of arrival irrespective of the duration of stay.

Foreigners visiting India on other categories of long term visa including business/Entry (X) visa would not require registration with the concerned FRROs /FROs if, repeat if duration of his/her stay does not exceed 180 days on a single visit. In case a foreigner intends to stay for more than 180 days on a single visit he should get himself registered well before the expiry of 180 days.
Pakistan Nationals are required to register within 24 hours and Afghanistan Nationals are required to register within 7 days of their arrival in India.
Registration facilities are not provided at the airport and are carried out in the office of FRROs or District Superintendent of Police (FROs).
Those children who are below 16 years of age are not required for registration on any type of VISA.

Fees for Late Registration:

There will be no fees charged to be paid for registration hence the penalty in Indian Currency to US $ 30 for late registration.

Doors & Windows :

a.  Entry from the doors should be solid core wood that is at least 1-3/4- thick, or metal.
b. The wooden doors should be fitted tightly. 1/8- clearance maximum.
c. The doors with glass panels must have a break-resistant plastic panel or a metal grill.
d. The special sliding doors need special locks or a wooden strip in track to block door from while opening.
e. You are not requiring installing door hinges outside where they can be easily unscrewed.
f.   Use a dead-bolt door lock with a strike plate attached by 3- screws.
g. A rim mounted lock with bolt affords good protection. Attached to door with long screws.
h. Police locks on rear and basement doors.
i.   Padlocks must be tightly constructed. Hasp must be bolted, not screwed.
j.   Always use special locks for double hung windows.
k. Use metal grills on vulnerable windows.

Outside of your Residential Area:
a. Prune lower limbs from trees near the house.
b. Trim all the long bushes so that windows are easily visible to neighbors.
c. High fences shield burglars from sight.
d. Carefully lock up all your ladders and tools.
e. Trellises help a burglar climb to a second story.
f. All the entries and porches must be well lit.
g. The street or road number should be clearly visible for police and firemen or other security team.


a. You should never carry identification tags on your keys.
b. You are not require to hide the keys outside.
c. Always changed the locks when moving.

d. Always keep your daily routines confidential.
e. Do not put your valuables in a visible area.
f. Don’t let strangers enter into your home to use the phone or some other needs.
g. Be aware from the wrong numbers or telephone surveys it may be used by burglars to “case” your home.
h. Always avoid listing your name or address in newspaper or any magazine advertisements.



Vacation Check:
a. Inform the police that you will be away.
b. Advice your neighbor to pick up your packages.

c. Have a honest friend to pick up mail and newspapers daily.
d. Use timers to turn on lights automatically.
e. Hide garbage cans in garage or basement.
f.   Cross check the locks of all doors and windows.
g. Leave all your shades and blinds in their normal position.
h. Turn the telephone bell on low so burglar will not hear that it continues ringing.
i. Stop all the deliveries of papers and magazines.
