Hostel Attendance Monitoring System :

The Department of Social Welfare Karnataka is giving facilities to schedule caste students so tat they can do their study in good way for that this department is running many hotel its approx eleven hundred fifty seven (1157) for pre metric hotels In this the department giving various types of facilities like living lodging facilities for those students who are studying in class V to X Std. Initial times they started this hostel facility in concerned District Headquarters (district headquarters of nearby where student is studying). Later, when they saw the requirement for students they started it in big way now these are extended to the Taluk Head quarters. Now the demand f students are increasing day by day so government has started it even at Hobli head quarters and big villages.

Social welfare department trying it to maintain in best possible way. They categories hostels according to their strength in Hotel there is a Hostel superintendent who look after the activities in Hostel and maintain law n order These hostels comes under Taluk level Social Welfare Office or District Social Welfare Office depending upon the location and position. There are cooks and kitchen servants and many other staffs like watchman etc which depending on the strength of the hostels.

 

The Superintendents should be B.Ed qualified so that they can look after the all students. The sanctioned strength of Pre-Matric Hostels varies between a minimum of 50 strength to a maximum of 550 Facilities available.  The expenditure for each of the facilities available in Pre-Matric Hostels is given below.

Facilities Available: The expenditure for each of the facilities available in Pre-Matric Hostels is given below:-

Food Charges (monthly) – Rs. 450.00 — superintendent have to maintain food quality there for students

2 sets of dresses (annually) – Rs. 350.00 — Students can get two dress for changing

Text Books & stationery (annually) – Rs.250.00 ——– Its fewer amounts but govt. trying to improve these facilities

Beds and bed sheets (once in 3 years) – Rs.400.00 —–students have to maintain their rooms

Miscellaneous expenses (monthly) – Rs. 40.00.  These also given to students

Hair cutting charges (for boys only, annually) – Rs. 60.00 Boys have to maintain it

Part-time tutors to teach hostellers. – Rs.500 per month/tutor for every hostel, 3 tutors are appointed to teach Science, math’s and general subjects like English (for 6 months from Oct. to March) student can ask their problem there in groups and individually.

News papers and weekly magazines – Rs. 1000.00 (annual charges) these are for all students

Medical expenses (annual charges) – Rs. 1000.00

Maintenance of utensils and kitchen items (annual) – Rs. 600.00

Electricity and water bill charges (monthly) – RS.1000.00

Sports items purchased during starting of Hostels. – Rs. 1000.00

Eligibility for applying there:
All students who want to do their study of class V Std to X std can apply for The Pre-Matric Hostels.

Documents Required: Caste Certificate, Marks Card or marks sheet of the candidate

Admission Procedure for Hostel:
Pre-Matric Hostel reopens every year in first June so students have to join in June after summer holidays and but only students who are promoted to next class can stay in the hostels. For fresh admission to Hostels, generally on May 15, an advertisement calling for applications to join the Pre-Matric Hostels are given in the local newspaper. The applicants can obtain and submit their application forms through the principals of their respective schools, to the Taluk Social Welfare Officer of the concerned Taluk.

These applications are scrutinized and before 30th of June every year selection of fresh candidates is done by the Taluk selection committee.

Time Schedule :
for admission in Pre matric hostels 2nd week of May applications are called for admission.

Authorities to be approached in case of delay :
The Taluk Social Welfare officer at the Taluk level or the District Social Welfare officer at the District level. The Chief Executive officer of the Zilla Panchayat can also be approached.
