Dr.S.Radhakrishnan Post Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) in Humanities and Social Sciences (including languages) for the year 2014-15

The University Grants Commission UGC  invites all the applications to award the Kof Dr. S.Radhakrishnan Post Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) in Humanities and Social Sciences (including languages) for the academic year 2014-15. 

All the candidates must below 35 years of age and who have either received a Ph.D. degree or submitted their Ph.D. they are eligible to apply for it which is necessary. It is to inform  that candidate identify mentor for their postdoctoral research work and obtain their consent for “the guidance. When, the candidates selected, then those candidates who holdings the Ph.D. degree will he directly awarded tho PDF. Those candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. they will  be awarded a “bridging fellowship”  until they are formally awarded the Ph.D. degree. 

The UGC fellowship will be awarded on a yearly basis with renewal/termination terms and condition on the basis of PDF mentor/peer group appraisal. However, the maximum duration of the PDF award would be the three  years which is (Non-extendable). All the candidate should give an undertaking in Annexure-I while availing the award, along with the endorsement of the research mentor that they would stay in place for a minimum of six months. 

Objective  :

The main objective of UGC  award is to provide an opportunity to look forward for the advanced studies and independent research in Humanities and Social Sciences (including languages) in Indian Universities and Colleges recognized under UGC Act 2 (f) and 12 (B.). All candidates are requested to read all terms and conditions before applying for it. 

Eligibility Criteria :

Here we have provided some important points of eligibility criteria which you need to follow to apply for the same:
1 First of all the candidate must have a doctorate degree in the relevant subject.
2  The candidates who belongs to General/open category,needs to obtain  55% marks at UG level and 60% of marks at PG level. Those candidates who are belongs to these categories (SC/ST/OBC/ PH) are required to obtain minimum, 50% at UG level and 55% at PG level.
3 This  fellowship is open for full time research work for young researchers who are below 35 years of age (Relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/Women candidates).

Assistance Under this Scheme :

The total number of slots are 200  under the scheme. And this is for per year basis.

 Financial Assistance Under this Scheme are given below :
Fellowship Rs.25,000 – 27,000 per month will be given with annual increase of Rs.1000 per annum.
Contingency A Rs.50,000 per annum basis for continous 3  years
Escorts or Reader assistance will be given Rs.2000/- per month which is fixed for the candidates who comes in the category of physically disabled.

The duly filed application will be forwarded through the University or Institution where the fellow desires to undertake research work within 01 month from the date of issue of advertisement. The selection process will be made on the basis of merit and on the special recommendations of the concerned  Selection Committee, constituted by the Commission. The final decision of he Commission shall be fixed and will not change in any circumtances. All candidates are informed that the Direct & incomplete applications will not be entertained and it will be treated as disqualification.
