National Fellowship 2015 for OBC Candidates

The concerned Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India, New Delhi, has recently announces the scholarship which is specially designed for OBC students. All eligible students are requested that they can fill and submit their dully filled applications through UGC for National Fellowship (NF) Scheme for Other Backward Classes (OBC) from students who wants to pursue their higher studies such as regular and full time M.Phil. and PhD degrees in Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences and Engineering & Technology.
Fellowship Details:

  • Total Number of fellowships: 300
  • Duration of the Fellowship: 5 years (First 2 years as JRF, can be extended for 3 years as SRF based on the performance)
  • Candidates are provided with a fellowship of:

Fellowship in Humanities, Social Sciences, Sciences, Engineering &Technology Rs.25,000/- per month for initial 2 years
Rs.28,000/- per month for remaining tenure
Contingency A Rs.10,000/- per annum for initial 2 years
Rs.20,500/- per annum for remaining tenure

Contingency B Rs.12,000/- per annum for initial 2 years
Rs.25,000/- per annum for remaining tenure
Sciences, Engg.
Departmental Assistance Rs. 3,000/- per annum per student to the host institution for providing infrastructure For all disciplines
Escorts/Reader assistance Rs. 2,000/- per month in cases of physically handicapped & blind students For all di  sciplines
HRA As per rules of the University/ Institutions For all disciplines

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The candidate who falls under OBC category should be unemployed and must have passed the Post Graduate examination in concerned subject and desire to pursue full-time research without JRF of UGC-NET or UGC-CSIR NET.
  • The annual income of the student’s parents or guardian should not exceeds Rs. 6,00,000/- lakh per annum from all sources.
  • Those candidate who are already registered for M.Phil./PhD will  also eligible for the consideration for award of fellowship.
