Caste Certificate :

The system of issuing permanent Community Certificate in Chennai was introduced in the year 1988. This certificate is valid for securing admission in all Educational Institutions as well as professional institutions and also for employment opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria :
Any Citizen who falls under the OBC, MBC, SC, ST communities can obtain the service For children’s should have completed 3 years.

such as : The state office holds birth records since january 1908.
Required Information :
This system of issuing permanent Community Certificates will apply to the institutions in Tamil Nadu coming under the control of the State Government. It will not have any binding on the institutions of the Government of India, its undertakings and other State Governments.
Application Process :
a. The applicant can make the request to the Tehsildar with or without the recommendation of the Revenue Inspectors/Village Administrative Officers.
b. The Tehsildar will fix a time when the certificate shall be issued either by him or by the Deputy Tahsildar.
c. The list of applicants for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe Certificates may be published in the notice boards of Taluk and Panchayat Union Offices and Panchayats and Chavadi in the Village concerned inviting objections from the public before enquiry is made.
d. The Community is determined with reference to the documents registered, Community Certificates obtained earlier by the parents/relatives, school Certificates of the person concerned or of parents, open inquiries in the village including the members of the local body, verification of their place of residence, personal inquiry of the applicant, etc

a. Application Form
b. Ration card
c. School leaving certificate or transfer certificate
d. Community certificates of parents or school certificates of parents

Validity :
Certificate valid for 10 year from the date of issued
Processing Time :
It may not exceed 15 days for all communities except the Scheduled Tribes. For the Scheduled Tribes, the maximum limit is 30 days.

    I have Community Certificate which i have got in 2000 as mentioned above the certificate will be valid only 10 years whether i need to be renew the certificate if how can i renew ? kindly help me.
